German immigrants to the United States and their progeny have contributed more to the settling, securing, building, educating, advancing and defending of America than any other ethnic group. To adequately recognize the tremendous impact of German immigrants and to draw attention to the achievements of outstanding German-Americans, one by one, some prominent Americans of German ancestry have established the GERMAN-AMERICAN HALL OF FAME.

The goal of "the Hall" is to establish an interactive visitors' center, which will highlight the accomplishments of notable German-Americans. Until this dream is realized, the www.gamhof.org website will be a focal point for news and information about the GERMAN-AMERICAN HALL OF FAME.

The GERMAN-AMERICAN HALL OF FAME will pay ongoing tribute to outstanding Americans of German heritage, as they are inducted by the Board of Trustees, in consultation with the Advisory Board and other opinion leaders. Inductees will be selected from 5 categories: Arts & Humanities, Business & Industry, Government & Military, Science, and Athletic.

For inductees to the GERMAN-AMERICAN HALL OF FAME, it may be the highest honor and recognition of service and achievement a German-American can receive in the United States.
